She was raised by her late grandmother who she still affectionately refers to as “Mawawa” in many of her songs. Growing up, life was filled with soulful music and chats “e stoepini “ with uMakhulu, where she’d tell her about all the beautiful things she’d do for her when she’s all grown up. “Our house was that corner house in the township, that always played good music, for the entire street to hear. From The Manhattans to Tracy Chapman, The Spinners to Pavarotti and Michael Bolton. That was my flex.” “I was privileged to be introduced to all kinds of music early on in my childhood, this has entrenched in me an appreciation for simple, yet meaningful and relatable storytelling.” It is this upbringing that allows her to create material that is honest and authentic which she is hopeful, “will forever resonate with music lovers” says the Singer/Songwriter. In 2014, her first gig was writing and performing original music for an SABC series “When We Were Black” season 2, a year later she released her first single “Philisa”, a soulful love song. In 2016, Trigger, a song she wrote in 2013 lands on a Mobi Dixon beat and goes on to sell multi-platinum. Inga Hina released her debut album title “Promises To Makhulu” which is an ode to her grandmother in September 2021. We will get back to you shortly Event details Simon Mtsuki Gauteng Simon comes from a commercial background, armed with a B.Comm Accounting from Wits University, he spent most of his university holidays and formative career years working with young entrepreneurs and small businesses. His passion for youth development began, also, in university where he Co-Founded and worked on a variety of young leadership development projects which furthered his passions for developing the next generation of leaders and inspiring people within his generation. His most notable programme was the Emalahleni Young Leader Development programme, which focused on the 4 main reasons why students dropped out of university. Using career development programmes and life-skills interventions, this programme assisted students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds in Emalahleni to be better prepared for university & find financial support where needed. This programme not only increased pass rates in some of the schools but also assisted certain students in obtaining funding for their tertiary studies. In 2011, Simon was asked to join the Co-Author team of Oxford University press, co-authoring the Grade 7-9 and 11 Life Orientation textbooks. This was due to his unique view on life principles and ability to translate them to young people. At last count, these textbooks had sold over 80 000 copies. In his current role Simon works with a variety of projects in the Young Leader Development space. He works with companies, state owned enterprises and professional bodies in furthering their young leader development objectives, both within and outside their companies. He has worked with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants on their Thuthuka Development Camp, Eskom Development Foundation, SABC Education and multi-nationals such as Ernst and Young, Investec, FNB and DHL, this is excluding his work at educational institutions. Many of these relationships are mutually beneficial relationships. Because of his collaborative spirit and his ability to serve his clients’ needs, he is asked to render his services in other spheres indirectly linked to his motivational talks. This year Jacques released an Afrikaans album Sluit dit oop in the genre is adult contemporary. For his present live shows he sings and plays keyboards, guitar and light percussion accompanying his own arrangements of pre-recorded orchestration. He has a vast repertoire of about 300 songs for performances in many different styles. Songs are performed in English, French, Italian, Spanish and Afrikaans. International hit covers include songs ranging from mellow, jazzy to rock and blues. Here is just a very brief few: Santana, Steppenwolf, The Doors, Sting, The Beatles, Bee Gees, Nat King Cole, Randy Crawford, Righteous Brothers, Charles Aznavour and many more. Some past highlight performances include: • Own compositions and performance featured on SABC2, in a series called Music from within • Houtstok Rock Festival – 1990. They completed the largest ever Southern African tour by an SA artist, which comprised of over 125 shows in SA, Swaziland, and Botswana, etc, and all this was done in just six weeks! Thereafter they spread their wings and ended an incredible year with a huge New Years’ Eve bash on the beach at one of the top hotels in Dubai. Tempted by the international shore, they spent almost six weeks during August and September 2005 traveling across England, Ireland and Dubai, where they were invited to perform at numerous clubs and festivals including the world-renowned Notting Hill Carnival.
